Man Charged with Assaulting Woman at Shawnee Inn

SMITHFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. — State police in Monroe County are charging a man with sexual assault for an incident at a resort in the Poconos.

Daniel Carney, 28, of Stroudsburg, is accused of assaulting a woman in a locker room at the Shawnee Inn back in August. Troopers say the woman is from Oregon and was in the area for Carney’s wedding.

Carney has not yet been arraigned on the charges.
